This incorporates all the experience gained by Cassese over many years of underpinner design.

The special feature is the built-in rebate clamp. This pushes the mouldings firmly together and holds them while the wedge is inserted.

The precision cast aluminium table is mounted on three tubular steel legs. The shape of the top means that you can butt it up to your work table to support larger frames.

Other features include:

• Only coarse adjustment of the top plunger required for different moulding from 7mm up to 85mm high.

• Easy to adjust for moulding widths from 5mm to 95mm.

• Easy setting for two wedge positions.

• Makes frames down to 40mm x 40mm.

• Fine adjustment of mitre angle and tilting fences.

• Joins soft and hardwood without difficulty, using standard or hardwood Cassese wedges in plastic cartridges. These are easy to insert and remove without wastage, to allow you to quickly change the length or type.

The 'CS-89' Pneumatic is almost the same as the CS-88 but it is air-operated for effortless operation. Uses 3lts per cycle.

The MINIGRAF 44 is a high quality pneumatic underpinner for bespoke framers specially designed for joining mouldings up to 120mm wide and up to 80mm tall.

Comes built onto a tilting stand. The two-stage foot switch first operates the moulding rebate clamp. Further pressure brings down the top pressure pad and locks the wedge insertion mechanism wherever it is placed by moving the handle - the overall travel range is between two adjustable stops.

With the moulding and wedge insertion mechanism locked in place, the trigger switch on the handle lets you insert one or more wedges at each position.

A unique feature of the 44 is the pneumatic balancing of the wedge insertion mechanism, to make it easy to use the machine tilted (with the optional table extensions).

Unique Cassese XL features include:

Ultra powerful double-action 'push and tighten' rebate clamp: Position one of the moulding pieces up to the guide, then lay the second piece roughly place. The special action of the clamp draws them accurately together, to ensure a quality join every time. This is unique to Cassese. Takes mouldings up to 150mm / 5.9" wide. No pressure adjustment between normal and harder woods: Saves time and reduces risk of damage.
Moving Pressor Head: Insertion mechanism and pressor head always move together so that there is no possibility of the moulding opening during joining.
Shape of moulding back support: This is adjustable to avoid moulding moving during joining.
Adjustable plunger, for quicker setting up and optimal top clamping.
All XL underpinners join mouldings up to 150mm wide, and up to 112mm tall.
They all use Cassese wedges in plastic cartridges, from 3 to 15mm. Compressed air supply is required - allow for 5lts per wedge cycle.

CS-486 XL: For the quality conscious volume framer. It has a control system to optimise its performance for volume framing.
Inserts wedges in up to 5 adjustable positions and can stack up to five wedges in each. The pressure sensitive controller ensures that it never misses a wedge and uses every wedge in the cartridge.
It also alerts the operator to an empty cartridge. Joins up to 600 frames per hour.

The MP is an advanced underpinner from Alfamacchine, the long established Italian manufacturer of quality framing equipment.

The special programmable software allows the operator, for each moulding in your range, to record:
• Position of wedge, up to 9 positions
• Number of wedges inserted in each position
• Speed of wedge insertion
• Size of wedge required
So, when the operator starts with a fresh moulding, they just key in the number, or read a barcode, and the machine automatically makes itself ready. The operator simply has to load the size of wedge indicated (changing the wedge block if necessary) and adjust the top pressure and rebate clamp positions.

Minigraf MP comes complete on stand and with filter / lube / regulator unit.
The optional double top pressure head helps secure wider and more complex moulding profiles.
The MP offers consistent join quality combined with very speedy set-up and operation, all at a very competitive price.
