A one-day course designed for newcomers to professional framing. Learn the basic skills of cutting and joining moulding and cutting bevel mounts, all on professional framing equipment. You will learn how to cut glass and assemble and finish a frame.
There are talks on "How moulding is made" and "The business of framing".
The course is run in Birmingham by Roy Rowlands GCF, to a syllabus endorsed by the Fine Art Trade Guild. A certificate of attendance is awarded. Course limited to eight. Ask for an application form.

A one-day course with Roy Rowlands GCF, for people who have been framing for profit for six months or more.
The agenda includes frame design - proportions, colours and balance, as well as washlines, float mounting and object box framing. Mountcutting, including v-grooves, emossed and offset styles, will also be featured. Conservation framing, and premium glass, will be discussed.
You are invited to bring along one or two items which you have framed, for constructive comment. If you are attending the course in anticipation of taking your FATG GCF examination, then please tick the box on the application form. Limited to five people.
