BUDGET DRILL STAND

Budget Drill Stand to suit SIMPLE Underpinning Head (Part no. 2468).

HEAD ONLY - SIMPLE UNDERPINNER

V-nails or wedges cannot be hammered in - they must be inserted with suitable tools.

The SIMPLE Underpinning Head fits into almost any drill stand with a 43mm opening.

The mitred mouldings need to be clamped firmly together, using a band clamp or corner clamp.

A wedge (sometimes called V-nail) of suitable length (max 2/3 the height of the moulding) is placed vertically on the end of the magnetic tip, sharp edge down.
The point of the V should be on the moulding join line. Pull the lever steadily down to squeeze in the wedge.
You'll find it helpful to make up three blocks of suitable height to support the other three corners while joining a frame.

Designed for use only with softer wood mouldings.

KIMBERLEY Mitre Vice / Underpinner

The Kimberley is the ideal manual underpinner for high-quality, low volume framing. Your mitred mouldings are clamped individually in the smooth faced jaws and can be adjusted for perfect alignment.

The pressure head with adjustable pressure pad is adjusted both ways to perfectly suit the moulding. Then, the appropriate height of wedge, typically 2/3 the height of the moulding, is placed, sharp edge up, on the magnetic feed and slid into place. The clever design means that this is always exactly under the pressure pad. Firm pressure on the lever lets you squeeze the wedge up into the moulding.

The Kimberley takes mouldings up to 75mm wide and 48mm tall. Taller mouldings up to 70mm can be accommodated with the triangular aluminium plate supplied. It weighs 10.5kg and can easily be stored in a cupboard. Full instructions included.

CAST IRON MITRE VICE

Traditional style of framers vice which meets every requirement for a picture framers clamp for holding square corners, while you pin them, or while the glue sets. The 'STANLEY' type mitre vice is made from cast iron.

It will clamp most mouldings up to 100mm / 4" wide, and join any frame larger than 90mm x 90mm / 3½" x 3½".

Two sides of the frame are held firmly for gluing and pinning. Universal base allows the clamp to be rotated or tilted.

FrameCo PUSHMASTER Framing Tool Kit

This helps you insert V-nails to join a frame and also insert framers points, flexipoints and brads.

It consists of a round metal handle, with one end specifically shaped and fitted with a sprung magnetic tip.

Clamp the four pieces of mitred moulding in a cord or steel band clamp. Lay face down on a smooth surface. Place a V-nail, sharp edge down, on the side of the magnetic tip.

Hold the PUSHMASTER vertically over the join line, and push down. If more pressure is required, use a small mallet.

To secure the back in place, place framers point, flexi or brad in the slot on the side of the tip.

Kit complete with 2 sizes of wedges, backing nails, flexipoints and instruction sheet - enough for app. 50 frames. Suitable for softer wood mouldings only.

FrameCo Corner Clamp

The 'Corner Clamp', designed and made in Australia, incorporates some new thinking to create possibly the best clamp of its type. Unique are the width of the back support and the specially shaped split clamping jaws.

The wide back support allows mouldings up to 75mm / 3" wide to be joined efficiently. The many small teeth hold the moulding firmly and the split jaws flex inwards forcing the mitred pieces together.

Use with PUSHMASTER, BENCHMASTER or our 'SIMPLE' or similar hand underpinners.

Steel strap and locking system allows small and medium mouldings to be clamped tightly.
