Electric Canvas & Film Cutter

Electric Canvas & Film Cutter

Aluminium running rail, 1565mm long, 100mm wide, bevelled along both sides. Can be cut to length. Rail sits on a table but comes with clamps for semi-permanent fixing. Some users set the rail into a slot in the table surface. That way the fabric just slides over for easy and accurate positioning. Working cut length is app 1300mm.

Cutting wheel is a large flat steel disc, sharpened on one edge. It is like a rounded square and it cuts against a fixed tungsten carbide blade.

The wheel makes four cuts every revolution, so it's like a very, very, fast pair of scissors. The cutting system offers no resistance, so will cut fabrics from the lightest to the heaviest, laminating films and most papers. There is a built-in sharpening stone which is flicked into use from time to time.

The cutting wheel assembly is powered by a 240v motor, and slides in a groove in the aluminium track. Power is fed to the motor through a 1250mm tall flexi-sprung vertical arm. The 800mm flexible operating handle has a 'push to run' switch. To cut, press switch, pull cutter across almost as fast as you can then release switch. The fabric will be cut with virtually no fraying and no fuss.

Servicing is limited to occasional topping up of the blade lubricating felt and sharpening the blade. All service parts are readily available.

The cutter is made in UK and is CE marked.
