SeaLion PRO Dry Mount Tissue - Hot MeltPRO DMT has a tissue base, is breatheable and sometimes heat reversible. The adhesive polymer is applied using a high viscosity hot melt coating process. No solvents are used.
SeaLion PRO DMT should not be used at more than 84°C and should not be kept under pressure for more than 3 mins with materials which have porous surfaces or 4 mins for non-porous surfaces.
Maintain the highest viscosity of the
PRO DMT adhesive by using the minimum temperature, resulting in the greatest hot tack and shortest cooling time. If the adhesive gets too hot for too long, it can soak into the materials, away from the contact faces.
PRO DMT is ideal for bonding most normal materials, mountboard, prints, white liner board, foam board, etc. Some users find it satisfactory with MDF, but there are different grades around, so remove any dust and test.
PRO DMT - Activation: Photos and coated papers, bond paper and coated litho prints: 78°C, 1.5 - 3 min, approx.
Thin bond papers and other fibrous materials: 82°C, 45 sec, approx.
Temperature control on many presses is often inaccurate. Pressure, humidity and the thickness of the workpiece can all affect the optimum temperature and the dwell time. Always test first. Made in USA.
622mm x 91m roll.SeaLion Cold & Hot Mounting and Laminating MaterialsMost SeaLion cold and hot mounting and laminating films are made for us in UK, in a specialised coating plant. This operates to the highest technical and environmental standards and is approved for food grade production.
To help you trial the SeaLion materials, we offer many of the different films in 5m trial rolls. These let you use them in your own workshop and judge the quality for yourself.
