1 Cotton Museum
Mountboard (sometimes known as Rag) Virgin cotton fibre,
containing no post consumer waste (recycled fibre). Naturally
lignin free. Buffered with calcium carbonate. Solid boards, or with
museum quality facing and backing papers.
2 Conservation Mountboard
Containing no post-consumer wate (recycled pulp). Chemically
purified to remove almmost all the lignin and is buffered with
calcium carbonate. Solid boards, or with museum or conservation
quality facing and backing papers.
3A Standard Mountboard - White
core Wood pulp chemically purified to remove the lignin,
buffered with calcium carbonate to a pH of 7 to 9.5
3B Standard Mountboard -
Cream core and colour core
Untreated wood pulp buffered with calcium carbonate to a pH range
of 7 to 9.5. Contains lignin which will cause the core to turn
brown.
