Peterboro Conservation mountboard is manufactured using the very highest quality facing papers, core board and backing paper. It meets or exceeds every aspect of the
FATG standard for Conservation mountboard.
All are made from chemically purified alpha-cellulose wood fibre which meets the most stringent standards for stability and permanence. The lignin has been removed and it is effectively free of acid.
The face papers have an alkaline-based sizing. None of the materials contain optical brightening agents, OBA's.
An alkaline pH of 8.9 +/-0.4 is indicated using TAPPI Method T435. Tests conducted using absorption spectroscopy showed a minimum content of 3% calcium and magnesium carbonate buffers.
The colours range include the very popular
Peterboro White, Off-White and Cream shades and many colours which are not available elsewhere.
You probably do most of your conservation standard framing using mounts in shades of cream or white.
Peterboro Conservation gives you the opportunity to create brighter, bolder framing, still to conservation standards.
