Twin Release Mounting Film is the easiest type of cold mounting film to use with a brayer roller or a manual or powered roller laminator

It bonds a print on paper to most smooth substrates, such as board, foamboard, di-bond and many more. It is relatively easy to handle as cut pieces, unlike self-wound mounting film. There is less risk of adhesive on an exposed face picking up dust.

Specification:

It is a five-layer material.

- Release Paper 120gsm siliconized one side, with grey grid

- 25µ Aqueous acrylic adhesive

- 50µ Base clear monomeric film

- 25µ Adhesive

- Release Paper

Total: 100µ thick, not including release papers.

Works best at ambient around 20°C. Use within 1 year after opening box.

How to use: It is a two-stage process. First is to apply the adhesive sheet to the mounting board. Cut a piece to size of the art on paper and pick up and fold back a narrow strip of the release paper on a short edge. Position the exposed strip on the board. Then hold and peel the release paper from under while smoothing it down onto the board using a hand brayer roller or a manual or electric roller press.

Next, peel up release paper on the adhesive on the backing board and fold back a narrow strip on one narrow edge of the art on paper. Carefully position the print on the exposed adhesive strip.

Finally, hold up the paper while peeling the release paper off the adhesive on the board. Pull firmly and smooth down the print as you go. Using a hand brayer roller to squeeze out air bubbles. A roller laminator, manual or power speeds the task.

Ideal for mounting prints onto substrates including foam board, acrylic, aluminium composite, MDF and most clean, flat, grease free surfaces.

• Clear 50μ base film, coated on both sides with a UV and blanch resistant permanent pressure-sensitive adhesive.

• Adhesive will build to maximum strength over 24-48 hours.
