Canvas offsets are for fitting a frame moulding to a stretched canvas. Use canvas offsets when fixing a canvas to a moulding that has a smaller or larger depth. Many framers have found that canvas offsets also work well the other way round, to hold the sandwich in a frame when it is shallower than the rebate.
