The mould-made 100% cotton rag base with a soft grain texture makes Fabriano Printmaking Rag very appealing to professional artists and photographers wanting high quality reproductions of their work. Absence of optical brightening agents, OBA’s, maximises the paper's longevity. It is naturally acid-free and fully archival.

Applications include fine art and photographic open and limited edition prints, fine art and fine photographic reproduction and restoration plus art and photo portfolios.

Very few companies can claim a more distinguished heritage than Fabriano. Dating back to 1264, the Fabriano mill’s fine arts papers were used and highly praised by Michelangelo. Fabrianese paper masters pioneered many of the processes now common in paper manufacture today, including the watermark and the technique of surface sheet gluing using gelatine. All manufacturing is in Italy.

Handling and storage of inkjet printer papers:

By their nature, all digital fine art papers and canvases are fragile and need to be handled with care. Avoid touching the surface of the paper by always holding the paper by the edges and wearing cotton gloves if necessary. Return any unused paper to the original box and store finished prints in archival quality packaging. Only use archival quality tapes and glues when mounting and framing. The water when using gummed tapes can very occasionally cause the aqueous inks to bleed, so high-performance pressure sensitive tapes can sometimes be preferable.

After printing, leave prints open to the air for 24 hours to fully dry. Do not stack prints on top of one another straight after printing. Using a finishing varnish can help protect your print from the damaging effects of UV light, air-borne moisture and environmental wear.
