Cold Mounting
A range of products from LION for cold mounting paper, photos and card to board, foam board, PVC, and more. Cold mounting adhesives are ready to use and do not need to be activated through application of heat. With self-adhesive boards, always peel up and fold back a small strip of release paper along one edge and align the item to be mounted. Peel back more and press down as you go. This ensures a flat, bubble-free mount.
Cold mounting film is ready to use with a brayer roller, a manual roller laminator or a powered roller laminator. Cut a piece of mounting film to size and fold back a narrow strip of the release paper on a short edge. Apply to the mounting board, peeling the release paper as you apply to the board using a roller press or brayer roller. Peel up and fold back a narrow strip along one edge of the second backing paper making sure to carefully position the print on the exposed adhesive. Finally, peel up the release paper and smooth down the print as you go. Use a brayer roller to squeeze out air bubbles. Alternatively, a roller laminator can be used which speeds the task.
Self adhesive backing board saves time by eliminating the need to use a separate backing board when picture framing. Simply bond the print on paper to the self-adhesive face, trim to size and fix in the frame. The face has self-adhesive surface with a release paper. The core is 3mm thick grey pulp board core to add rigidity. Finally, the back of the self adhesive cold mount board has a lining of brown kraft paper, which gives an attractive finish to the back of the frame.
